pond and woodland at Bottle Hollow Farm

Wildlife at
Bottle Hollow Farm

We dig biodiversity! From rich soil that's teaming with micro-organisms, to ponds with fish and frogs, to open fields and woods... we welcome and enjoy a wide range of wildlife around the farm.

We reject the concept of sterile farm fields that are sprayed with chemical herbicides and pesticides in an attempt to kill every pest and weed, often for the purpose of growing a single monoculture crop.

In our way of thinking, life supports life; and the overall health of the farm is improved by encouraging variety and abundance.

Our farm helps to support a wide array of wildlife. If it runs, creeps or flies through our corner of Middle Tennessee, we've likely observed it here at some time.

From common (almost daily) sightings of deer to a rare visit from a river otter in one of our ponds, we welcome all creatures, great and small.
